Steam Question About Playing EDH / EDO Through Steam

When you add EDH and EDO to your Steam account are you just launching the game through Steam, but still playing the game through the same FD servers that you use when launching the game from your PC or are you playing through Steam's servers?

I am getting constant crashes to desktop in EDO and thought I might try playing through Steam, but if I am only launching the game through my Steam account, but still playing ED through the client installed on my PC then I doubt that will change anything.

The game uses FD's servers no matter what the distribution platform is (ED Launcher, Steam, or Epic).

However, I have had "black adder" error crashes on my Epic account only and only when mining. This particular error though relates to ED not being able to validate your commander data, and appears to me to be an Epic only issue.

In general, I think the game has been crashing to desktop more often, at least for me, than it has previously. I have seen other posts on the forum in recent time stating this as well.

It won't help to launch from Steam, it's the same servers. And if you attach to Steam you'll have other issues, so don't.

I get this through the FDev Launcher too on a Frontier Store account. 😟

So not Epic here.

Ok, interesting. Weird that it only seems to happen when mining...
Yeh I get it when mining too. I really can't fathom it. Never had it on PS4 or PS5 but, on PC had it quite regularly. The caveat been that I have done very little mining on the PS5 lately. I wondered if it was something to do with limpets.
