Steam VR vs Oculus home

Just thought I'd throw this out there. So I have been playing through steam VR since I purchased my rift 4-6 months ago. Poured over the forums for weeks tweaking everything to get it just right. Had a 980ti and was pretty happy with everything, but felt I needed like 15% more. Purchased the MSI gamer X 1080ti and got that extra 15% and was very happy.

Last week I accidentally launched from Oculus home and instantly noticed a difference, clearer picture and much less stutter. Thought it was just me and just wrote it off as a placebo effect. 3 days ago I had problems launching from Oculus and went back to steam VR. Definitely not a placebo effect. Things were less crisp and the stuttering was back. Got Oculus home launcher to work again and I'm happy again.

Just thought I'd mention it here, give it a try. Made a noticeable difference for me.

Fly safe everyone.

Alternatively I don't launch from either. I have OH up and running in the background (as you need to for the Rift to work), and just use the FD launcher as I always have.

I speculate, but perhaps it has to do with running through steamvr instead of native oculus (which the vr part was originally programmed for).
