Newcomer / Intro Steam

Hi All,

I'm not used to use Steam because I come from console gaming.
So sorry for the "perhaps" stupid question. I will receive my PC rig by the end of the week but already bought Elite Dangerous and Project Cars2 on steam.
Now I have a laptop as well and I want to start installing ED on my laptop so I can create a new CMDR on forehand and Frontier will be able to transfer my credits from the PS4 to my newly created CMDR on PC.
But when I install the game on my laptop, will I still be able to install the game on my PC later this week?
or is it only allowed to install a game on a single asset?

I've got ED through steam, too. You can install it on many devices but it can be active only on one at a time (you'll get a message which will prompt you to have it closed on the other device so that you can start it at the one you're currently using).

Enjoy it, it's a magnificent game.

Thanks. I'll then will install it on forehand. I know it is a magnificent games as I already have it but on the PS4.

FD earns dubbel credits from my hand. Bought 2x deluxe version. 1 for PS4 and 1 for PC..

Have they said they will do that? I thought that they said it wasn't going to happen. Good if they do, it makes sense to allow someone to transfer their commander in total to a different platform.

Yeah but only the credits. Game progress etc will not be migrated. So I start as a fresh cmdr with a lot of money.

Well, it's nice that they at least do that.

Most companies just tell you nothing transfers. At least you can start out in a nice ship.

I think you'll like the world of PC gaming, personally.. I play both console and PC but the console is more of a casual thing when I'm just kicking back in the living room. It's cool and all, but if we're being honest.. nothing touches the PC gaming experience. If you get it VR then this game really takes on a whole new dimension.. it's amazing.

On a more serious note - as mentioned, there is no limitation to on how many devices a game can be installed, but you can only run a single instance of it.

I also agree with Darth - if you can, get a VR headset. Elite is absolutely amazing experience in VR!

Yeah I just bought the whole package. PC and Rift and games (ED and Pcars 2)

This is my complete setup.. Happy gaming.. My Rift just arrived an hour ago and I hope to get my PC by the end of the week.
