Hi All,
I've been trying to find the best settings for my setup.
HTC Vive
CPU 8700K
GPU 1080TI
After extensive Google searching, I learned that SteamVR SS is supposedly less demanding and "better looking" than using in-game SS.
When testing SteamVR SS settings, I didn't notice any changes in image quality and had no noticeable performance loss. I even changed the global setting to 500% and the game specific SS to 500% and I still saw no change or drop in frames.
I thought Elite might be one of those games that SteamVR SS doesn't work on, but I see others posting that it works for them.
I upgraded from a i5 3590K 980TI to this machine, and my current visual cap has the game looking like it did back in 2016 when we had the aliasing issues on the Vives. I'm assuming the issue is on my end, of course. I must be doing something wrong.
Anyone have any ideas? Do we still have to make the rendertargetmultiplier edits like we used to or is there something else you think I may be overlooking?
If not, can you please share what settings you're achieving?
Since SteamVR SS is ineffectual for me, I'm at 100% across the board on SteamVR and in-game I'm SS1.0 and HDM Quality 1.5 to keep consistent frames.
...... Oh, and Should I have "Always On Reprojection?" I have "allow" enabled and "interleaved" off.
TIA!
