Hardware & Technical Steelseries Nimbus MFI Controller with Mac for Elite Dangerous

I too have bought a SteelSeries Nimbus gamepad and being MFi was really hoping ED would support it out of the box however the only control option available with the nimbus connected is "Generic Joystick", which the nimbus gamepad certainly isn't. Is there a way to force the game to make the "gamepad" or "advanced gamepad" control options become available for selection?

I have a feeling this will be fixed in future updates to ED however, i'm just impatient and want to play!

There is a solution for this, in the form of a free app called Enjoyable.

This lets you map controller inputs (both analogue sticks and buttons) to key presses and mouse movements.

I've tested it with the Nimbus and it works. It also works with an old PS2 pad I had, connected via a play.com usb input.

The original version of Enjoyable can be found here: https://yukkurigames.com/enjoyable/.

However, it doesn't work perfectly with the Nimbus - the d-pad wasn't mapped, and the mouse control is a bit clumsy. As a result I've tweaked it a bit. You can find the source for my version on github: https://github.com/samdeane/enjoyable. I'll try to put a downloadable build somewhere too.

Just to follow that up slightly.

Since posting my first message I've discovered that ED does now seem to support the Nimbus directly... sort of. Could have sworn that I tried it back at the beginning, but maybe not.

However, Enjoyable is still useful, as it adds support for the D-Pad and the 'MENU' button, neither of which seem to register directly in ED itself.

So I'm currently using a hybrid set up with Enjoyable filling in with keyboard mappings for those buttons.

Just bought a Nimbus and trying to map it to Elite. I don't have the means for building your source. Would you be so kind to provide a link to a 'downloadable' if it's not too much trouble?

Thanks!

EDIT: Nevermind! I downloaded XCode, figured it out, and built it without incident. Working exactly as advertised. Thanks!!
