Stellar and Planetary Cartography

I know some things were discussed ahead of time about exploration being part of the game. But now that we are getting closer to a playable model I had a few questions.

I was wondering if there will be some sort of sensor you can attach to your ship that will allow you to scan bodies for more information? Even if it is already known it would be nice to have some sort of interface to get detailed information and telemetry.

Like if we go to a new system, personally I think it would be interesting if we needed to actually supercruise to all locations and run scans. The closer we get the more detailed the scan and information about the location it reveals.

Such as

1) Size/Mass
2) Chemical composition
3) Distribution of said mass etc (25% water 75% land etc)
4) Orbital period
5) Populations, life forms etc
6) Artifacts / ruins etc

I'm sure not all stars will be inhabited, and maybe some ARE but do not have stations yet. Some should not have ANY lifeforms at all in the system.

I'm wondering if this is still going to be added in beta or is it still later down the road? Or if at all?

It would be amazing if you could go to some areas where there is no conflict or no people whatsoever and just catalog the entire system, then return to sell the information. The more "value" you find in the system the more money you'll get for the info.

It makes avoiding combat all together a profitable enterprise. Especially if you use a small fast ship that is the fastest, you can avoid conflict all together. Then change ships when you are ready to go out and fight.

I'd be surprised if most of this info isn't in the system map view(which is still incoing)

It's amazing how little you need to set the tone for the system. Just a few lines of text, compared to a multi-million parade of animations and voice-overs.
