Stepping up to a T9

Hey,

Saved my pennies for a while now and the T9 is looking closer.

How much cash do I need to make the step?

Ship + FSD upgrade + cargo upgrade + insurance + trading cash + ??? + ??? = ???

Can anyone help me with the numbers please?

Thanks!

A

Quick add on - how much does it cost to repair a T9's scratches? Like, T7 money or like Clipper money?

Can you fly it shield-less or is that a Very Bad Idea?

Grind it out quickly, if you can - you can buy the T9 for 10% off (68,900,258) at Dalton Gateway in LHS 3447 but we don't know how long it's going to be on sale for. It was still on at that price as of an hour or so ago.

You need at least 16M extra for the 6A FSD, 4M for the 256T cargo hold, about 4 million for insurance and another 3-5 million for cargo.

If you are lucky and your trade route is only 5-6LY you can skimp on the FSD, but otherwise you may not be able to do your current routes. At least not in a single jump.

Does this work for ship parts too? Does it have all the needed modules available? I may have to do this if so, that 10% discount is a great deal.

Looks like I can get this loadout for about 88m http://edshipyard.com/#/L=30Y,,2-A0Ba9Y8SA06u9s,0DI0Bk0AA7TC07207205U05U03w

EDIT \/\/\/\/ Cool, thanks for the info!

From what I've heard, the modules are 10% off too. I'm still grinding out a little bit more cash before buying mine (I scouted ahead to check if it was still at that price earlier), so don't know what modules are available.

How did you discover this?

Sadly I think I'm not close enough...seems I need about 110M to equip/insure/trade it. That's more than I thought....still a ways to go.

Some speculated earlier that the prices would only be on for as long as stations controlled by Future of LHS 3447 (Dalton, Trevithick, and Worlidge) were experiencing an economic boom, but there is no longer a boom at those locations (though other stations are still in a boom). So the sale either lasts until no stations are in boom or it's a timed event. If it's a timed event, it will probably last until Sunday (a week from when it started).

Also, checked the Galnet news and it said the discount applies at outfitting:

don't make the mistake of buying too early, you need at least 100million. A6 FSD and D7 thruster's are essential on this ship.

Also head to LHS 3447, hopefully the discount will run for a little while, you will get a cheaper ship, and cheaper insurance. Unfortunately upgrades are no good in that system. TZ arietis is not too far and stocks everything, groombridge 34 & 61 Cygni also stock most upgrades.

Also be prepared for a shock as to how heavy it handles. Every maneuverer needs to be planned for as it happens in slow motion. Make sure you press full stop while you are in hyperspace/coming out of super cruise as if you arrive too close to something you'll have almost no chance of avoiding it.
.
I sold mine and went back to the python to grind credits. For sure it has a little over half the load, but I could make the same amount per hour simply because the T9 took so long to do anything.

I posted this video to dispel that myth. She flies fine with D7 thursters, even in SC. In the Vid I am full throttle past each star, 9 minutes dock to dock over 25LY.

Full tank costs 300,000, I keep my tank at 50%, normally don't run with a fuel scoop, but the route in my video requires one. Fuel time is only a minute or so, can't remember the class, but it scoops at 175.. definitely not the fastest scoop but it does the job. I scoop once every two runs.

Still that route nets me 1.1 million every 20 minutes
