Stereoscopic

Does anyone have settings advice for using Nvidia 3D VISION for Elite?

Using the defaults is shocking nothing is the correct depth. I assume you can't do anything to improve the ordering but can it be improved? Not really messed around with the 3D stuff before.

Can honestly say I've been utterly unimpressed with Nvidia 3D vision whenever I've used it, it looks beautiful in the test demo, then when you run it in game everything is bland and barely more than flat. My 3DTV can convert stereoscopic to full screen, so I use the in game option instead when I want to try it out. Obviously comes with a fair degree of pixelisation, but the difference in 3D quality is astounding.

I'll be watching this thread with interest to see if anyone knows how to make 3DTV play worth the 20 odd quid they expect me to pay for it, because currently it's not worth ten pence.

The quality is pretty cool but the depth of field is all fouled up. Distant stars overlay planets in front of you.

Not sure if that is a flaw in the technology or whether it is to do with the way Elite has been developed.

Other games are brilliant and converting non-3D films on the fly is pretty good as well.

3DTV play is only useful for 3dmovies really and I think CyberLink PowerDVD is probably better for that.

Nvidia 3D is really good for some games on a good monitor but it doesn't work for Elite.
I don't think anything can be done unless FD decides to fix it. There is only so much that can be done on the driver level.
