Still Don't Understand Thruster and Mass Relationship ?

I have a Trading Anaconda with D7 Thrusters, and in the Outfitting screen on the right under MASS is says Current 747.3/2430 and Max 1199/2430. First what do these two figures mean, before the forward slash and after it.
Secondly, would I benefit from upgrading to A7 Thrusters giving me Current 795.3/3240 and Max 1247/3240 or would this be a waste of money at 51,289,112 Cr ?

Current is current total ship mass/maximum thruster mass capability. Max is maximum ship mass, at full cargo and full fuel, followed again by maximum thruster mass capability.

A7 thrusters would make your ship noticeably faster and more agile than D7.

Updated my Conda from D7 to A7 last week. Usually i never put more in a ship than needed to do its job. But in case of the Conda the difference is really noticable. So yea, imho it was totally worth to upgrade my PP and thrusters.

I read a moderators post on a thrusters discussion thread. Simply thrusters improve your optimal and max mass which means at optimal mass your ship functions as designed, under optimal you will have better performance allround, over optimal you will suffer decreasing performance I'm sure there are limits per class of vessel and he didn't elaborate. but you get the idea I hope
