I had stopped playing Elite for a while anyway having visited most places and flown most things and had millions to spare, put a few bug reports in etc, so for me it isnt a big deal to wait a while whilst they sort things out. Am very much looking forwards to re-entering deep space next week (or maybe sooner...) Still looks like it will be the best game yet. Glad I backed it.
In the meantime I had a fit of spontaneity and bought Euro Truck Simulator 2 as it is on 'give-away' price on Steam at the moment. I remember laughing at the idea of this game a few months ago, why would anyone want to drive a truck simulation, like, where's the fun?
But I found myself browsing a few of the 16000 'overwhelmingly positive' reviews and before I knew it I had clicked the mouse a couple of times (it is too easy to buy games on Steam...)
Now there is obviously a bit of a difference between driving 40 tons of tomatoes from Southampton to Lille, and, say, dogfighting in a cannoned-up Viper, and I also suspect that those who have been yelling at a black screen all day may have little truck (sorry) with this review...
But...
There is something weirdly satisfying about this game, it's hard to describe...
You can get a demo somewhere if you want, I believe. Best played with a controller as I found it tricky driving a juggernaut with a mouse
