Still no Wing-Missions?

Hi,
me and my friends didn´t played ED for nearly a half year because of the missing Wing missions. We don´t wanted to fly around and do the whole day the same thing. Flying the traderoutes was after 2 days extreamly booring and bountyhunting wasn´t this rentable. Now I wanted to see if something happened. Can someone tell me if Wing missions are/will be implemented in the game or not? It´s important for us, because it´s the most funny thing flying around with my friends in space and doing the same mission.

The next thing are the community missions. What´s about them? Where do i find them? What kind are they, hunting, transport or something else? Are they only for the Anaconda pilots or can i do some stuff with my Cobra MKIII ?

I´m still a newbie in this game and any help would be welcome.

Try dropping into Strong signal sources, they were specifically introduced for wings update. Although be prepared since some get you attacked by 10 Vultures or 3 Anacondas at a time. It gets messy.

1.3 brings a massive mission update as well as massive updates on other things so you're probably best asking in a few weeks once it comes out of Beta.

Community missions right here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=113495
In the past they've been exploring, trading, bounty hunting and combat zone hunting. Can be done with any ship but don't expect to be in the highest reward tiers without higher ships. Bounty hunting is easiest for smaller ships to get in higher tiers, trading is the hardest for smaller ships. (Note the payouts even for smaller contributions can still be substantial, the last goal had top 70% at 3million credits reward with the top 5% of contributors at 20mil reward).

Just watch out in community goals if you play in Open since they attract a lot of players and that in turn attracts people who like to kill other players.

Edit: Also community goals are currently a bit of a mixed bag, all information on that forum page is player based so its a bit unknown what rewards will be, when a new community goal will appear and how long they will last. In the past they've been every Friday but as an example we had 3 mid-week ones this week and none on Friday.

If you also missed the 1.2 Wings update then maybe catch up on that, its quite a boost for playing with friends.

Hey, I'm fairly new myself so I can't tell you too much, but if you want to find community missions look at your GalNet News when your in a space station and it'll talk about current events. If you read a story that mentioned going to a specific station to help then that's a community mission; for example there was just one for bounty hunting in Autahenetsi, I believe it was called Ceti Security Initiative. I did this in a Viper and was able to be in the top 70% without too much effort so it's totally doable in a cobra, it's not just for Elites. These Community Missions can vary from trading to bounty hunting to conflict zones, lots of variety depending on the mission. If you cba to look them up on GalNet this thread is update fairly regularly on current community missions: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=113495

Also since you've been away you may not know about Powerplay. Powerplay basically seeks to create smaller factions, called Powers, that seek to control sections of space. They often fight each other to gain control over each others territories. Depending on the type of Power they may seek to take control via trading, goods transportation or combat. Again anyone of any rank should be able to help out the Power the pledge to and the more you help, the more rewards you get. Look up some more in depth reviews about Powerplay if you want to know more. Currently it's only in Beta but should be released some time next week. When the update does come out I think GalNet is being moved from Space Stations to the cockpit so it can be accessed mid-flight, so keep that in mind if you come back after the update.

Ultimately Elite: Dangerous somewhat relies more than other games on Players creating their own fun, but when you do find something you want to do it can be so much more engaging.
Also on a side note, since you've been gone Bounty Hunting has been buffed and is more more lucrative, and if you want to be more PvE than PvP, try joining the Mobius group, it's strictly PvE and has a lot of members. If you do join, you might see me around the Ceti Sector in my new shiny vulture and I'd be happy to create a Wing to kill some Pirate Scum.

EDIT: I also believe that a grip most people had about having to trawl though space looking for signals to complete missions is being fixed a bit in PowerPlay, for example assassinations targets will now be flying around in SuperCruise in the system they are found in, so they are easier to find and can be caught with an Interdiction. This might make playing with your friends a bit more enjoyable.

There are some things you can do in wings, if you're in small ships try combats zones and watching each others backs, or both take on an assassination mission and tag team an anaconda. Strong signal sources require you both to be in a good ship (vulture or above, unless you are really skilled), but have substantial rewards (relative to USS). Community goals are pretty good to do in groups too, as they attract other players, so having a a friend to watch your back is a great advantage...

Thanks a lot for your help.
@RancidRance
Hehe sounds like this what i wanted. How do i join the Mobius group? I flied to my start system back to buy the ASP :) I´ve got ca 10 Millions and equipped the ship a litte. Flying to Ceti shouldn´t be a Problem :)

To join a group you open Elite Dangerous and select Friends and Private Groups, located under Start. Then select the groups Tab and select Search Groups, enter in "Mobius". Be sure you join "Mobius" and not "Mobius.", which is a fake copy group. Once you've requested to join the group you'll likely be accepted within 24 hours, the acceptation process has to be done manually so it won't happen instantly.

Look here to see the rules of the group: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=38362
