Stock market & corporation backing

Hi everyone I hope you're all well! As this is my first post I'd like to start by thanking Frontier and the fanbase for creating this excellent game. It truly is the game I've been wanting for a long time.

Further to a discussion on Twitter I wanted to suggest to this community the idea of a stock market/corporation backing system within the game.

So perhaps you could buy shares in Lakon or core dynamics or aegis or any other firm. Then you could receive dividends or experimental modules for your investment over time.

Perhaps the stock value could fluctuate depending on current events within the Galaxy. Even a commodity based system could be interesting. So if everyone is trading a particular commodity it's value could go down, which would affect the manufacturer share price etc.

Anyway just an idea!

A few mega-corps per superpower to invest in sounds great. Perhaps an alternative approach would be the ability to invest in Minor Faction Corporations; players could get a small reputation boost/loss as they buy & sell shares in them & receive a dividend depending upon their mean influence level & number of systems they are present in. Of course it would have to apply to all Minor Faction but obviously using different terms; you support a Dictatorship you get paid a salary as an enforcement officer rather than a dividend etc. Could be interesting.
