Stock Sidewinder V Expert Anaconda. RUMBLE!!!

I was feeling a little bored and perhaps a touch suicidal (not IRL before you start calling the white-coats! :D )
So I wondered how insane it would be to take a little stock sidewinder and go hunting in a High Intensity Conflict Zone.
I soon found out!

No shield cells.
No Boosters.
Just my little class 1 pew-pew sticks and a whole lot of shutzpah...! :p

Those sideys are actually quite tough little buggers!

You had size working for you since it was being attacked by so many other ships, my guess is the AI prioritizes defense by size of attacker, though it could also base it on dps and you'd have the same lower level priority. That and you can hide in blind spots easier. I am surprised none of your subsystems got trashed before the hull, even if by accident.

I suspect it would have played out much differently if you had interdicted the anaconda :) Might not have survived long enough for the cops to show up.

I was just amazed I lasted that long. But I have a new goal now! Hehe!

Balls of steel to go up against it in a SW. I've taken on a few in my viper when there is support and got away with it, but don't think I would try that stunt. Nice vid

Two lasers? That's easy mode. :)

Nice video, but watching people playing with fixed weapons brings on some "motion sickness" for me. Need a Scotch now.

Had a great start against him, so what if he was distracted by other ships, you certainly made your mark.

Yep! I'll be back for another round with him later.
I'm determined to prove to myself that a Stock no-frills Sidewinder can cause a ruck in a Combat Zone! :D

Probably has far more to do with the OP's lack of independent yaw control and thus need for frantic rolling.

Hey it works for me! :D

But if you must know, the yaw control on my flight stick (apart from being excruciatingly slow) requires me to "twist" the stick.
It's got a fairly strong spring and thanks to some problematic wrist injuries, I had to adjust my flight style accordingly. (Basically I tend to avoid the yaw function due to painful shocks up my arm... :/ )
I could use the keyboard controls, but I already have 4 fingers working the engine power and the vertical thrust.
