Stop panels from activating when you look at them?

Is there a way to stop panels from appearing when you look at them in VR? I'd rather just use the shortcuts to activate/deactivate them, and have them stay off when I look in their direction. I've looked at the settings but I don't see it.

If it's not a thing, it should be.

It’s definitely in the settings. I can’t remember where offhand but I’m sure someone will be along shortly to let you know

Its something like
Looking at ... panel - change the drop down option to does nothing

Then you need to bind a key to open and close it

It is a thing. Look in your settings for UI. I’m not in game at the moment so can’t remember exactly where it is but it stops panels popping up when you look left or right.

Edit: options, controls, mode switches, looking at "x" panel, switch to "does nothing".

If you have voice attack, you can say "left panel" and that will activate said panel.
