Stop the ramming

I was surprised by ram only once. After that I always have full pips on shields in proximity to potentially hostile commander. With full pips on shields you are likey to cause the rammer the same damage he causes you.

1.5 will introduce more "problems" for commanders.

One the one hand you can add Hull Reinforcement Modules to add strength and damage mitigation to your ship to negate rammers; on the other hand you can add HRMs to your ship to ensure when you ram you win.

Double edge sword :)

Try taking a wing of 4 vipers into a haz rez and see how long it takes you all to take out a wanted conda, and then an eagle without shooting one shot. (granted you get no bounty but it's for fun anyway)

I'll just say the eagle was by far the most challenging for us... sounds silly but that was the most fun we all had in quite some time :)

I got rammed only last night, it was a heavily disguised Python and it was disguised as an riod. I am sure it moved towards me at Boost speed! Came away with shields down and 54% hull left. Defo more than a quick bodyshop filler and re-spray!

I don't mind the combat ramming so much. That can usually be avoided. It's the ramming from behind by other players while approaching or leaving a station that's annoying. It's kid's stuff really. That's why my Asp has reactive armor and maxed-out shields.

Bouncy bouncy...:D

I need to stop ramming FASs with my Dropbrick...that NEVER ends well (insurance screen and ~90-120k bounty to turn in every time, because neither of us walks away and I somehow get paid for the ship I splattered against LOL).

In the beta me and 3 fellow nutters went into a haz res with these beasts- BE AFRAID!

No ammo- RAMM AHOY!

Insane fun

Side note- Elite Keelback- omfg they are absolute tanks! and the one we had was a miner, it took 19 missiles to deck it!

Fly safe and set "SHEILDS TAE MALKIE!"

Ramming is a perfectly viable method in combat. I'm not sure if NPC's do it deliberately or if it's some error in programming, but they do it to me all the time.

If I'm in a scrap, still have shields, have the guy down to 20%, I'm wanted in that system and security drop in, I'm ramming to take him down and get out of there ASAP.

I was winged up with a friend in a LCZ once. We were taking on a 'Conda in our pair-o-cobras. Took his shields down, had him down to the last couple % hull, so I boosted into it and the thing exploded. It was awesome. We had a good laugh.

The NPCs learn combat tactics from our behavior! Recently NPCs have begun targeting my Life Support and ejecting me from battle before I can kill them!!! This is totally new. I also noticed a while back that they began deliberately ramming me, especially as a first move in combat. I have also noticed that the super-cruise behavior of NPCs has drifted over time. A few months back NPCs where doing the "loop 'o shame" when approaching a starport frequently. This doesn't happen nearly as often now (more players have figured out how to approach objects). There is definitely a portion of NPC flight characteristics that is being learned by the Background Simulation.

What I want to see is NPCs learn to be more inaccurate fixed weapon shots, NPCs ALWAYS hit! (ok, almost always).

I like to ram to take a large target's shields down or to take a wingman down to instakill. Last night, I was ramming Anacondas down to 25% hull in a HazRES and having fun with it. Used up a lot of SCBs, but it was great!

You do get bounties awarded for ram killing enemies. I've used that to soften up wings these days in Haz RES around Xelabara last weekend, just ram one of the ships dead. I can destroy an Anaconda with my Python just through ramming, costs me one shield cell though.

I had a player in a Viper interdict my T6 Brick, no shields, military hull, no guns. He didn't say a word, just started shooting at me, so I ran him over and killed him.

YOU can stop ramming people if you want OP, me, I'll continue to use the tactic as it's rather effective, especially when you're flying a giant brick.
