Stop with the ramming!

Gah!
In a haz-res zone...getting continually rammed by NPCs - to such an extent that it is now almost unplayable.
Chasing a Python (that had just rammed me) - so not flying in a straight line - rammed by an Anaconda which took my shields out and then about 5 seconds later rammed by a clipper - took my hull to 10%

Not funny any more.

I'm getting rammed everywhere.
RES, nav beacons...and also by police patrols around stations.

I understand they need to keep their nose pointed at me, but at least make them strafing me, instead of scanning me at full speed forward.
And I bet it would look cooler that way too. :p

You could try swerving out of the way? I reckon those NPCs would say you rammed them too. :)
Most of the ramming happens when I'm stationary.

Yeah, this game really needs things like, radar, or proximity warnings and all ships should have all over hazard warnings lights.

Just for the record and in case any commenters are new to the game, this problem with NPC collisions hardly existed before release 1.4. The question is therefore why Frontier released AI code that made the NPC accuracy far worse and then failed to correct it back to what was running before when a multitude of people complained that they were being hit, me included.

I've noticed this issue recently as well. Usually, it's not an issue. I can handle a few small fines at a station or some idiot in an Adder ramming my Python, but it seems like every time I go to a Nav beacon (which is very rare, I'm a Navy guy, not a bounty hunter) some shieldless AI bounty hunter rams me at full speed, killing themselves and giving me a bounty! Fix this!

FWIW - this is a new thing that has only just started happening. It is getting tiresome.

..........
:)

Not so new, it was a big problem at one stage in beta. Even moreso considering collisions did way more damage at that point. I suspect that somehow they have reintroduced that bug.

Expect the "I don't have it L2play" crowd though.

Maybe the combat rank also reflect the piloting skills of the NPC? Anyone taking note of the ranks of these distracted pilots?

Rank or Rating does not seem to be an influence when NPC's have tried ramming me, I just dodge out of the way.

So you believe that it is on purpose rather than accidental?

Not at all, just bad AI programming. However I have noticed that in combat some ships do run away if I am beating them, sensible, that's what I do if I am being bested in combat.
Ramming is random by the AI but it does happen to often and not always in combat

I actually had to leave a H-RES the other day because I was basically stuck in a continuous loop of four ships scanning and rammjng me over and over. It was so continuous that it almost seemed coordinated (which I know it wasn't).

Ship one comes up, makes piratey comment, rams me while scanning. Ship two, which made his comment while ship one was ramming me, then rams me, etc. The same four ships did this in a loop. I just flat out left.
