Storage Wallet - Saving for that costly insurance!

This was something I discussed with forumites last year, but worth bringing up again. :D
It would be really awesome if we had a "wallet" or something similar that you could essentially deposit X amount of credits into as a means to make sure you always have enough to cover the value of your insurance.
Obviously, you would have to add / remove any excess as your insurance costs change due to modular changes, etc. But that's part of the fun.

In particular, this would aid in resolving a slightly irritating problem when trying to judge how much of a commodity to buy when you're low on cash or more specifically when buying new modules for your ship.
I've often found myself buying slightly too much (meaning I don't have enough left for insurance) and having to sell them back at a loss which is annoying!
Alternatively, when buying modules, sometimes its far too easy to buy a module and forget about the insurance budget.

Not sure on this one.

It's not hard to know how much your buyback is and not spend the credits so you cant cover it.

I totally understand what you're saying and get your point. I think it's part of the management of your character to keep track of it.
Kinda like not running out of gas or refilling your weapons before a run. Just basic CMDR responsibility.

Maybe a warning if you expend your account to the point where you cant do a buyback?
It would keep a lot of whiners off the forums, but you know the other side will just raze them since they failed to maintain insurance on two different accounts.

That's fair - and I would hasten to add that this is in no way intended as a means to "dumb down" at all.
But we have all had that moment of dread where we realise we forgot to save the insurance money.

Heck, I flew the first week of trade runs last week in my Conda without any insurance money! Heh!
Hardcore mode! :D
