Storing Full Cargo Racks/Ship Inventory

Ok, I know for me things may be different because I film Elite Dangerous machinima, so full disclosure and context on usage.

I am finding it nuts that we don't have some kind of bank or ability to store Inventory Items. I may be trying to get mats needed for a specific shot but may need to switch ships in the middle of gathering in order to do whatever other filming.

I end up having to carry everything with me at all times. God forbid I am switching to a ship with no cargo racks, I have to sell my inventory or delay filming.

I also come from 15-16yrs of WoW, so I may be a little spoiled by having a bank I can store items in. Even if it is just storing a cargo rack with items in it and is station bound like current stored modules, that would be leaps and bounds of an improvement on Quality of Life.

Let leave wow mechanics in Wow. If you use some common sense You will not be full of cargo.

A few things... for each response.

I was VERY clear in my usage and that my usage is not one size fits all. So comments like "use common sense and you won't be full" is 100% irrelevant to the context. Clearly I am not full, I am speaking of the specific pain in the @55 of switching ships when your racks have stuff in them, even so much as 1 limpet. If I make machinima, I am constantly swapping ships for different shots. Sometimes something comes up unexpectedly and you can either not switch so you don't do the scene or sell stuff so you can empty the cargo and switch. It sucks to deal with especially when filming multiple shots in a thargoid structure. If you cannot read beyond sounding out words, be silent because I said what I said NOT what you want me to have said (hearing what you want to hear vs what was stated). I gave full disclosure and context. Even stated that I know my usage is different than many but this would benefit all players.

I am sure this has been suggested before, but this is not a dinner date where I am trying to get laid and no means no. Instead they give us a suggestion forum and I am going to keep asking because no is not no in an MMO that is constantly changing until they literally stop developing for it. If you wish to give up because they did not respond to you, that is fine. Do you. I am going to do me and use the suggestion forum to make suggestions.

"Do a quick search and you will see the devs said no", if you are not going to provide a link to back up what you say, then don't. It is not on me to prove YOUR point, that responsibility is yours. That said, if there is a suggestion forum, I am going to make suggestions that I think would be quality of life improvements. If you don't like the idea, that's fine, but to add absolutely nothing only proves to be worthless. Have some pride in your own worth and try to not be worthless when making a statement positive or negative.

"Leave WoW in WoW", really? A storage place not on your character is somehow a WoW only trait? Think before it becomes illegal.

THIS is the that people hate about forums. The majority of this community is AWESOME... then you go to the forums and become thankful that the universe is vast and the chances of meeting such negative, defeated folks as I find in the forums are slim.

"Who said it was a good idea?", I said it is a good idea and that is all I need in order to suggest it. Outside of that, Frontier is the next opinion in line on whether my idea is good or not that I care about. I would love to have a LOGICAL explanation from those who poopoo ideas as to why they are bad. You can store modules but not inventory items, but why is that so?

Just because they don't choose my idea or your idea or some other idea doesn't mean they are inflexible. We have no idea what is on their sprint list for each sprint.

This is a huge reason why there are far fewer forum participants than there are players. This odd inherent human desire to be a complete d*bag on the internet is ridiculous.

P.S. The FDev hate is ridiculous as you still play the game or participate in it's community. Folks seem to love having something that they don't like or dealing with a company they feel falls short, I guess they feel it helps their cries of digital injustice or something equally moronic and 'victim-ish'.

ooh, a good modification to this idea from a fellow pilot friend on twitter...

Just let us keep cargo on the ships that collected the cargo. Currently this applies to fines. The fine stays with the ship flown at the time. Just let us keep our inventory on our ships if we don't sell the items.

Transfer cargo racks between ships that can accommodate them.
