Stranded, looking for advice...

Hi,

I've got myself stranded at Oopairph PN-T d3-1 by trying to follow a Neutron Highway and either mis-selecting a jump, or the planner giving me incorrect info.

I have a jump range of 56.99 (with a lvl 2 injection - no materials for lvl 3) and a full fuel tank.

Nearest systems at 16.47 (but there's nothing there I can jump to) and 59.90 (so close!)

I have no cargo I can jettison, and as far as I can tell no way to reduce my weight.

I suspect this is going to be a self-destruct situation, but any thoughts from others would be welcomed.

Thanks!

Let the fuel bleed down?

Otherwise see if you can get a DSS Fleet Carrier to get you out.

There might be some discord channels for Fleet Carriers that can arrange assistance.

I sent up an inquiry on the Galactic Academy exploration channel and linked your post - I'll let you know if I see a reply.

Do you have the ability to get the materials you need for level 3 synthesis, if that will get you the jump distance you need?

IE: Mining, surface prospecting, possibly USS if any are there?

Also, as mentioned the fuel rats may be able to help.

Or possibly try the Fleet Carrier Owners discord server

With a Latin motto that translates as “locate and save”, The Fuel Rats is an open group dedicated to rescuing stranded players in Frontier’s MMO space epic Elite: Dangerous. Since its establishment on 2 June 2015, more than 1,500 players have contributed in saving over 40,000 gamers. The longest such mission in terms of distance was the Rescue of Persera aka Operation Beyond the Void – 65,659.04 light years. It was a journey that put the rescuers in danger of being stranded themselves. The live-streamed event had a safe-and-sound ending, though, on 23 December 2018. It was longest in terms of time, too: 75 hours.

The only thing I can do for you is to send my fleet carrier for you.

If you have not already done so do speak to the Rats, Use the "I don't need fuel bit still want to chat" button highlighted above.
It sound slike you have already thought through the possibilities for self rescue, but the rats will probably want to run through it again and scratch their whiskers for a while whist pawing over galmap. The likely outcome would be that we refer you to the Fleet Carrier's owners club. I believe they prefer a recommendation from rats or seals.

Thank you to everyone for your responses. I was aware of the great work done by the Fuel Rats, but I didn't realise they might consider helping with rescues for other than "I ran out of fuel".

I don't have any means of gathering resources except perhaps USS - I'l log in this afternoon and check what there is in the current system and the one other that I have access to (I have a fuel scoop so fuel's not a problem).

If I can't find anything useful I'll give the Fuel Rats a shout.

Many thanks everyone.

Edit to add: One of the materials I need is Polonium which is only available on planetary surfaces so that's a non-starter. https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Polonium

Fuel Rats it is!

Thanks Cmdr, I'll try the running down the fuel tank trick and see if that gives me the few extra LYs I need. Hopefully that'll work.
Get your ship build in coriolis and see what's the max range
See below, my AspX could get like 4.4 more jump range on an almost empty tank - you could be able to make it too, assuming the destination system has a Fuel Star at or near drop off

Else, you'll need a carrier pick up

I'm very interested in seeing your loadout to know what you have available...

I was able to make one more jump and I'm now at Oopairph RI-T d3-1 but that didn't help as it appears to be a cluster of stars that don't have any links outside within the (now 40.48ly without boost, 60.72 with). My galmap reading clearly needs practice.

Coralis is showing a max range of 40.52 so I'm very close to that now.

@Northpin You are correct that I didn't pack an SRV.

What's the best way to share the loadout?

Hmm, you can still surface mine by shooting crystals with ships guns and scooping I think, but I believe it's difficult but I do recall a player getting some needed mats that way a long time ago. Umm, does you ship have guns?

You don't need an SRV to harvest surface materials. But collecting mats without an SRV is up there with flying a Corvette through the mailslot sideways. Just because it can be done by a few CMDRs (not me - either of these) doesn't mean anyone should attempt it.

Just post the link, the url from the ship builder

but i can see you really butchered that DBX build :D
as a general advice, only use A rated FSD, smallest A-rated Power plant that can power your ship, everything else D-rated (for core modules)

3 Rules?
Never fly without rebuy.
Always fit a fuel scoop
Carry a SRV

Not sure if a refinery is needed or useful as I do few long distance journeys.
