Newcomer / Intro Strange conflict zones

Hi Cmdr's
Just been pottering around the Khun system.
Visited 3 Conflict Zones (Low Density).
When I arrived there were about a dozen System Authority vessels with their hardpoints out shooting at each other.
What's going on?

Also if you have a dozen skilled pilots shooting at each other why is it Low Density?

Go to your right UI panel and pick a faction, and start shooting!
You are seeing two factions at war.

I find the High CZs more fun and even a little safer, as there are lots of targets/friendlies so you can disappear in the crowd.
It's kind of funny that when I shoot down 100s of ships from a minor faction, that they still offer me missions at the nearest station.

Try a high intensity one and you will find out why that is low!
.
Seriously though, you need to choose a side if you want to get involved, then half of the ships will become hostile and it can get hairy real quick if you are not awake. CZ ships are also tougher than your average NPC so take care out there.

A thing to keep in mind about CZs is that the ships in them aren't pirates but warships and are usually therefore armed more powerfully and carry better armour.

Another thing to note is when one sides ships are all destroyed another wave will jump in, this can lead to you being surrounded by hostiles which is not a good thing as almost everyone of them that is in range will start to shoot at you. In a low intensity there are fewer ships on each side so new waves are more frequent which is why the high intensity is considered safer.
