maybe it's nothing, but yesterday I encountered a very strange mission on the board - has anybody seen and played this mission?
Here's the story:
I was at Apura, Fuca Station. I came across a mission, unobtainable for me, since it requires to be ELITE in exploration (I am only Trailblazer).
It read something like that (the text was indeed very long):
"For decades you are the role-model for all young exploreres... now we have not these kind of experienced commanders to verify a rumour, saying that there is evidence of a gate to another dimension, the so-called open door, you know what we are talking about..."
The mission requests you to go to the very outer rim of human inhabited space, some outpost, where you should investigate if the rumours are true. The mission had no monetary reward to it, as far as I remember.
It really intrigued me as it is exactly the kind of mission I like to see in Elite, in the best case with a whole storyline behind. But maybe you just go there get some info and money and that's it.
Has anybody seen this kind of mission?
Has anybody actually flown this mission - what happens?
If it's new, may I kindly request an ELITE-ranked (exploration) commander to check out Apura system for this mission?
Or is it a new way to perhaps - gasp - the gate to Thargoid space? (Ok, one can dream...).
