Strange halo effect in Beta 2.2 (Rift)

Hi guys, not really sure where to post this. Have any other rift users suddenly got a strong halo/bloom effect around all light sources in the beta client? The monitor window is perfect, as were visuals in the live client, It's just through the headset itself I'm having the issue.

I've had a quick google but can't find anything beyond the old Vive issue.

I didn't see anything like that. In the past, sometimes the stations would be too bright, but just temporarily. It may be just a glitch like that.

It seems to appear around any light source, I have tried messing with the bloom setting to no avail. Cant think what else to do : /

that's something us vive user have to deal with since 2.1
something very handy would have been a bindable axis to dim all cockpit light strengh like we have in dcs for exemple on modern and old real plane ;)

It seems strange that I'm the only person with the issue though. Still havn't got a fix for it. what did Vive users do to remedy it?

So it appears so have been a driver issue. switched over and it seems to be fine now. will do some further testing to be sure.

there's no fix for it, we just pretend we fly drunk :D
wich is tje case... at least for me :D

Looks like the lighting in B2.2 has been upgraded.. more light sources and lense flare.

I quite like the new lens flare effect.. turns the rift limitation into a feature! :) [alien]

Disabling spud and having gamma at min makes it very dark and hides these halos and lens flares. When I enabled spud, I found I need 2-3 clicks of gamma to minimize the patchy appearance of the galaxy, and that made the halos and lens flares noticeable. I can also see a halo/bubble of glowing orange around the rotating ship loading screen. Kicking up the gamma also makes the text more legible. I need to go back into the regular game and compare when I get home tonight.

Even though it's still too bright, things are looking a lot better now that I'm able to use spud again. I just wish Oculus would add a brightness control.
