strange interdiction

this happened to me twice in my trip just now.

travelling along, get interdicted by a npc, I begin evading in my Cobra III.

Blue bar is almost full, red bar is at 1 segment, so I'm thinking I've just about evaded it.

then blam, suddenly I'm sideways, the whoosh lines are going from left to right, and the blue bar is at 0, red bar almost full.

No possibility of turning to escape vector, so I have to submit.

and this happened again a few jumps later.

What happened ? Has anyone else had this happen to them ?

I can't see the point of fighting an interdiction. It's much easier to submit and run, or submit and fight if you want.

I always annihilate them as a matter of principle. Most of them take one look at me and then try and slink away quietly hoping that I might let them off, but no, anyone who has the audacity to interdict me is going to get what they deserve. I'm hoping that the word will get around, so that I won't get bothered so much. It seems to be working.

Actually was introduced with 1.4 as what can only be an intentional change. FDev know about it; it's been reported numerous times ever since it appeared in the first 1.4 beta. They did nothing other than a couple of small tweaks but left this RNG-like effect in place - intentionally introduced to force a win/loss regardless of how well you are doing in the mini game.

Been an issue since release 2014, there was supposed to be a fix in 1.5 but it seems to still be happening from time to time.

It's unfortunate when it happens, I think it must be server related. It seems to happen to me more frequently on evenings when I have more transaction/adjudication errors and longer load times. It does go both ways though, sometimes I get interdicted and begin to lose and then suddenly my bar fills very quickly, or I'll interdict and we'll be evenly matched and suddenly I see the NPC get flipped and I win quickly.

Hopefully it gets sorted soon, it must not be an easy fix.

I can add that sometimes you get pulled out violently (with hull and module damage, and with longer FSD recharge time) even if you submitted (even "Throttle zero, submitting" message appears).
FD should revert interdictions to 1.3 mechanic until they really fix them. At least in 1.3 you could actually win the minigame, not letting RNG decide the outcome.

I have come across both insta-lose and insta-win interdictions.
If I fight, I usually get the same problem as the OP. And sometimes, it just evades instantly without even giving me the chance to decide. Lol
Very weird and very broken.

Oh, I've seen that happen as well. I thought it was because I hadn't adjusted throttle quickly enough, or something.
