Strange ship track

After exiting to space on cargo signal, i saw a shipwrek and container with research data. Approaching to container i discovered inversion track from another ship, but no any tag on radar or visual contact. I follow this track, but after a while it disappears. It was not my track, because I not maneuvered when approaching to container. It was a bug?

PS: incident occurred about 3000 parsecs from home in unexplored system.

I had a similar thing where I dropped into a signal source and there were tracks in front of me as though another ship had dropped in. I followed but didn't find anything. Creepy.
