Strange space issue

I built a pen for Red Pandas and put in a pair. Soon they were both showing social problems. On investigation it was telling me they didnt have enough space, even though the pen was as big or bigger than the ones in my other franchise. I thought it might be that I had made a hill with a cave in.. so i levelled that and re started the game but still showing the problem and it was going to kill them. I built another pen next to it and it was fine. I then tried to put some other red pandas in the first pen after deleting the pond id made and it showed the same with the red pandas getting mare and more social problems quite quickly. I expanded the pen into the next door to give more space but still the same problem. I took out half the trees and still not enough space. The problem pen below is the one on the left which you can see is way bigger than the one on the right that has 2 red pandas in. There is nothing I can see that has caused this and i have not had it in any other habitat.

Do they have enough climbing area? Animals can have up to 3 different space needs. Area, Water, and climbing.

For example a Hippo needs a good amount of both area and water to meet their space needs. And some monkey/apes need both area and climbing to meet their space needs.

I think red pandas may need climbing area as well. You can view these needs from the second tab in their information panel. Make sure all of their space requirements are in the green.

Yes they had climbable trees to start off, a hill with a cave in and a pond. I flattened the hill and got rid of the pond and moved some of the trees to see if that freed up space but it didn't. The next door habitat (on the right) has 2 red pandas in and they are fine, they had the same enrichment and everything. I think Im going to try putting a different animal in and see what that does.

I tried warthogs and they were fine! so went back to the red pandas and same problem... I now have loads of climbing frames in there (my research is now done) and that worked. But despite putting loads of climbable trees in apparently that doesn't seem to count, even though they climb them.

Trees do work, you just have to use enough of them and the right ones. I only use trees for mine, which is how I know that lol, because climbing frames are kind of broken atm and will teleport red pandas like 50 feet underground when used on occasion.

Well with all the ones in there it only said 18m ... It seems fine now but will keep an eye on it in future, and watch out for the teleportation....
