Hey, I'm not a new user (my CMDR name is Frostbird but Bestestkitty is by far my better known username atm) but this perplexed me a bit.
I was out running to the Orion Nebula to help fund my new ship, being a Python at this time, when I discovered an odd patch of space wherein I couldn't jump to any of the stars in that area due to me not having a permit, with that permit being unspecified. I was around pre-Thargoids and I did do a lot of reading up on stuff like the 'rift' in space that was supposedly between the Orion arm and another (it's been almost a year now so my memory is fuzzy) but I don't remember coming across anything like this on any forum I read, nor did I remember finding anything connected to this area of space in the lore.
Needless to say, it piqued my interest; a section of space- albeit on the whole rather small- that I can't enter, which requires an unknown permit? It's quite the curiosity if you ask me.
Side note; I couldn't get the screenshots to embed any other way so I had to jump through some hoops. Hopefully the quality isn't crap.
The star I'm on in the first one is in the center of the area in the second, you can go to these on the star map to check for yourself.
