Streaming for the first time... NOW! =D

Hi Commaders,

You're all cordially invited to view my 80's themed ED stream, which I'm trying right now for the first time.

Feedback on quality etc. Much appreciated.

PS mods, very sorry if this is in the wrong place, feel free to move.

its a good idea to have the twitch chat open while playing, i wrote some suggestions there, which included
-raise resolution, its impossible to read anything except the steam titles.
-hm.. all sounds good, mic works, too. good idea to remove your music, some watchers like to listen to their own style.

ok, iam about to edit my post, i know you are here in max. 15 minutes.. well after the asp battle ^^
..and greetings to your wing!

oh, your asp turns/pulls up a little slow. no wonder, you forgot about your power management. good that iam working on a .ahk script to automate that handling :D

edit: Q: am i the only one who barely modified his HUD color sheme? iam so used to green friends/allies, cyan wingmembers, and red enemies. nevertheless, it looks good heh

HAHA thats unbelievable. if i wouldnt have watched your stream, i would have spent hours afk maybe. so ty for that cheering up.. cheers ^^

btw, check your F5 key, you didnt refresh this page recently. its not broke i hope

Thanks so much for the feedback! I was working with a couple of friends to get my mike and video settings down.

I'll raise the quality next time but for some reason it makes the stream really unstable. Any idea why that might be?

Good point about the music. Thats something I need to think about because I love the 80s vibe for this game, and atm I'm using shadowplay which won't let me distinguish the audio from just the game (afaik?).

My asp performs horrendously, especially in that vid. It's far from well built (I just take loadouts I like) and I was messing with hardware and settings almost all throughout it so I blame that!

Edit: Do you see my steam overlay? I guess you do but curious. Thanks.

I didnt get to see your stream when it was live but if you're having stability issues, I recommend a baseline of 720P resolution @ 30FPS with a bitrate of 1500-2000. That seems to be the standard for a wider audience, anything higher in terms of resolution or bitrate and less people will be able to view the stream without buffering. If 720P is still unstable, drop to 480p. This is all dependent on your internet's upload rate.

I also highly recommend using OBS for your stream capture, It has the option of using your video card's built in video encoder (same one that Shadowplay uses for minimal impact on gameplay). It also gives you the ability to add several sources, such as a chat overlay, webcam, graphics and separate audio sources.

Thankyou boxcutter, OBS was what I used to use on my last machine. I thought I'd give shadowplay a go but I imagine I will return to OBS because I'll miss the functionality.
