Streamlining heater/cooler management.

It would really useful to:

1. Have the area of effect showing for heaters and coolers before you place them, as you hover them over the terrain.

2. Once placed within the habitat it would be fantastic to have an option to change the temperature setting of all heaters/coolers within the habitat. This would save a lot of fiddly micro management ie. having to select every heater and cooler and set the temperature of each. They can be hard to find after placing and large habitats can use a good many heaters/coolers!

The heater/cooler system definitely needs refining in some way, I think, unless I'm missing something (which is very possible!)

I can't find a way of either locating the heaters/coolers in a habitat once they are placed, and I'd love a way of adjusting the temp of the whole enclosure once they are put down.

I've been putting them just under ground, because I think they don't look that great, and I now have a habitat will some very chilly hippos, and I can't find the damn things to delete them or change the temp. Poor hippos!

You can use the mass select tool (it's to the right of the terrain button). Just click and drag it over the enclosure until you find them.

If you activate the heat map for temp the heaters & coolers are much more easily visible. I do the same thing for education speakers as I often hide those in the ground because guests are less likely to break them.

I'd rather they had no visible effect at all except to stop the "animal is outside its ideal temperature range" alerts. Zoos in temperate biomes can exhibit animals from a range of different climates, such as polar bears and tigers to use two extremes, without much issue in real life - it's annoying that my reindeer of all things are complaining about the heat.

I don't like using coolers because they prevent snow from melting, I don't like using heaters because they prevent snow from settling. I try and do realistic builds, so usually that means keeping my tropical reptiles indoors anyway, but there's nothing realistic about permanent snow beds in outdoor, open air exhibits. Granted turning off animal welfare negates the issue itself, but the alerts still pop up, and there's no way to turn of specific animal alerts (I still want alerts for animals escaping, for example, but not for animals that are hungry, thirsty, or too hot/cold, since with welfare turned off none of that actually matters).

I agree that the managing of coolers/heaters and the coolers/heaters themselves could really use more love. More options to manage them, visible areas of effect, a way to quickly pinpoint them (because I also place them underground), etc.
