Stretching my Legs

Well lads, I've gone and done it.

I bought an Anaconda, got it up to ~40LY jump range with a couple SRV's and some fighters for multi-crew if I get lonely or if I want to zoom around in some rings. I left around a week before the launch of 2.4 and so far, it's been quaint.
I'm headed to the nebula on the eastern side of SAG A (cant remember what it is), SAG A, then to Colonia and finally ending at Sol! It's my first real trip outside of the bubble without a passenger mission I'm halfway between the nebula and the bubble and I'm scanning like a mad man. Almost every system that doesn't have a name attached to it is going to end up having my name. :p

That being said, are there any systems worth visiting while I'm out there? I'm not trying to go past the back half of the galaxy. That will be for another day.

I found this beautiful spot on my way. My first HMC world with a ring!

Sounds like a great trip! I went out there with a few friends, several months ago. We did it in the other order though. Colonia -> Sgr-A* -> Bubble.

As for systems to look for? I don't recall off hand. However it's worth visiting "Great Annihilator" (you'll find it in a text search, by that name). It's about 3kly from Sgr-A*, on the bubble-side, and gives you some more lovely black holes to look at.

Also, the core region has some great views if you go 2-3 kly above or below the galactic plane.

Exploration is playing Elite for the love of playing - pure and simple.

Instead of tearing around you get time to appreciate the beauty of the galaxy that has been created for us at your own pace!

You asked where to go? Well surely by now you will have seen some of the nebula and other features near and far in your view as you explore the systems. Pick one that takes your fancy and plot a route, go look:D

Somebody had a map of important nebula, which I used first up to pick some likely destinations. When I have access to the right machine I'll post it up for you.

Fly safe CMDR, o7

P.S> There is nothing quite like the final run in to a pretty nebula as it expands to fill your screen. Marvellous, I'll never grow tired of that :)

I actually went to the Great Annihilator for a passenger mission once. That was a good one.

I have yet to see the nebula slowly creep up in the background, but I'm sure it's marvelous.
