Stuck at squire

Not getting anymore naval ascension missions at squire. I am friendly with the Empire and Allied with several minor empire factions. I want baron for the clipper. Am I missing something?

look for and read the other 100+ threads about "broken" naval rank missions. They aren't broken, just really poorly implemented.
Basically, just keep doing missions and trading, keep moving not just between systems but also to other types of systems, agricultural, high tech etc etc. eventually your "hidden naval rep" will climb to the next level and start spawning the next rank mission.

What you might also find is you need to get some more "kills" under your belt. I stuck for ages without missions and then went to a combat zone and earned some combat bond money. Suddenly the Imperial missions appeared again.

They seem to be like buses - you get nothing for ages then two or three come along at once. Same with the feds. Good advice about getting more kills.

I concur. Stuck for ages at Knight, did a pirate mission and boom naval ascension mission.

I've never had the flow of promotion missions stop, playing since late december and I'm a Count now. I think this is because my playstyle is a little bit of everything. I travel a lot, do a lot of odd jobs for any and all imperial factions, got to allied status with the Empire as a whole, and have plenty of kills under my belt against pirates and the Empire's competitors. My progression ranks are Expert/Dealer/Pathfinder, so I guess if you're at that point you should be ranked up as high as I am.
So yeah, move around a lot and get allied with enough minor factions that the major faction starts to notice you. Take plenty of pirate sweep and assassination missions (but make sure you know what faction you're targeting so you don't get -rep where you don't want it), do some trading and exploring and sell at imperial stations, and if you just keep playing normally long enough you'll notice the offers being thrown at you left and right. Worked for me anyway.
