Stuck in a system with 3 Black Holes

Well looks like I am going to die because of heat damage currently in a crazy system approx 275 light years from SOL. Called HIP 63835 like I said it has 3 black holes and is at least a 15 star system got to close to the first black hole and now my hull is down to 30%. In normal space trying to get some distance but it dosnt look good.. If anyone is in the area the system is defiantly worth a look...

One thing that annoys me greatly is that after any jump you spawn right in front of the start running full speed into it. I bet with black holes that would push you past the event horizon very quickly. I so miss the way of old elites when you got spawned far away from the star at the edge of the system.

I think there should be a mechanic in place similar to mass-lock in SC that also applies to hyperspace jumps. That way you would get spat out at a varying, yet safe distance but not too far away for fuel scooping.

Throttle to zero while in hyperspace, you come out and...stop.

Meaning that you have to spam your brakes key for like 10 seconds when in hyperjump, that's what annoys me. I even had to create some stupid macro that does it for me - launches the jump and then keep spamming the brake key. Makes it manageable but still. I don't think it cares what you press while still in hyperspace so you have to catch the moment when you are out.

Well... not if you're jumping into Achenar or Alpha Centauri. Or Sirius come to that. ;)
You still spawn heading into a star, just not into the star you want :)

You can press the key immediately after the countdown starts actually and you'll still stop (or slow down to 30km/s) when you come out of the jump.

Why would you need to spam your brake key? Just have a button set to 0% throttle, if you're not using a HOTAS, and press it once you're in hyperspace. When you drop out you'll be at the minimum possible velocity for supercruise, which is for all practical purposes stationary.

Pressing it while in hyperspace doesn't work for me, I have to wait until I drop to supercruise. And there is very short time when you have to hit it for some star types (i.e. white dwarves) before you get overheated. So, to avoid it I have to set my break button on auto-fire and activate this auto-fire every time I'm in hyperspace.

Interesting.. I was in the same system yesterday doing the same.
What was interesting is that I was not getting the lensing effect from those black holes, so I was trying to get closer to see it. Saw my temp rising so I escaped in time with 135% heat and no damage.

Why am I not seeing any gravitational lensing? I think that black holes had masses from 7 to 13 solar masses.

Probably comes from years of button mashing on the consoles where it is all part of the console game mechanic. I hate when I see that in PC games. No button mashing in Elite, unless you just like mashing the buttons. I remember running into that within the first 5 min of play with Crysis 2 and uninstalled the game immediately, then remembered they also put the game out for the consoles....which is why they developed it in their PC version of the game......just lame.

I think this still works, but not in SC. Using your reverse thrusters, or throttle can help slow you down after putting the throttle to 0.

Hmm there should be, there was in the beta/gamma.

It should look like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7txixfOI0tE

If not then it's bugged I suppose.
