Stuck in everate...help!

Hi All

I am in the system EVERATE in my new Cobra (no guns - empty cargo - full tank) and literally every destination I click on it says route unavailable! (always it is in red) I am trying to plot a course to DISO. I seem to be trapped in EVERATE :S

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Give it time to populate the route (it's slow, and slower the further you want to go). It won't go above 100 ly either, I think Diso might be further than that from Everate.

Look in your left NAV panel, does it offer destinations there?

Can you plot to nearby stars at all? Have you accidentally downgraded your FSD when trying to upgrade it?

Most likely this OP. A Cobra needs Size 4 FSDs to operate normally

You are right! + 1 The learning curve is lessened by the wonderful help on the forums - I should have come quicker to the Forums than I did (pride!) - I came close to having my first blood vessel pop

Thanks Tristan - Only a pleasure to pass it forward - btw I jumped from my starter zone to DISO (my first hop - skip and a jump) and very nearly run out of fuel! Just made it to a station along the way - grabbed a Fuel Scoop and arrived safely without any Interdiction's. What a Game! Really had my heart in my mouth

Thanks Nutter - no need - I had downgraded my FSD

That usually gets the adrenaline flowing! And now you'll fall in love with fuel scoops, which is a bit of a rite of passage in this game.

Thanks Helvellyn - Good tips for the future - I got to DISO (eventually) It really is far from Everate (a small couple of jumps for the Explorers I know) - but it was my first leap out of my comfy Starter Zone

Another piece of advice regarding fuel scoops: You can't scoop from all stars. I just found myself almost at a dead end as I didn't have enough fuel left to make the jump I wanted, and the system I was in was uninhabited and only had a sorry little red dwarf. Some 2 LYs away was another system, and I tried it. Red dwarf. Facepalm. Next system had a nice bright but very small star, I could not scoop that either. Fortunately it was inhabited, closest station some 1800 LS away. And I drifted through that mail slot on fumes and prayers.
Just because I couldn't be bothered to wait for my tank to fill.

This is what makes ED such an addictive game! - it is a constant life and death struggle with real rewards - and dire consequences. Thank you for your story - I will start my rite of passage with the fuel scoop ...
