CQC Stuck in "Searching for Match" - problem or just no other players?

I've had problems getting a match all day - Dec 19 - waiting for very long periods.

Is this just a server issue, an update issue, a network issue, an account issue?

If anyone knows, please share.
 
I've added CMDR Pale Night to friends and could see him in CQC today (would be nice to know if he was in dm or tdm or ctf), but no matter how long I waited for dm match - I was alone in waiting line. I suppose he was in dm too, so this friends system is broken. And matchmaker is broken again

It's as if they havebought limited server resources and now desperately move focus from cqc to main game and back to make it look like temporary troubles appearing in different game modes.
 
I had no problem finding games yesterday. I was spending some time in the main game playing with the new toys so I wasn't in the queue as much, but hardly any problem finding a game.
 
I've just spent 40 minutes in dm matchmaker queue. Wanted to wait for just 5 minutes, but had to go afk. No matches for me today (not even some players appeared while I watched)

I had few matches yesterday morning, but not in the evening - I waited for 10 minutes with no luck and closed the game.
 
Perhaps He plays in a different Amazon Region (I presume he is in APAC (Tokyo), and you are in EU West (Ireland?)) It seems like lately matchmaker tries to get "local" players (probably for the reason of presumed latency? Or just a way to save money on Amazon data transfer costs?)
Don't know for sure...

But I've noticed it too - UK players disappearing from match making (from US East region point of view) while showing as "In CQC" and at least in one case waiting for match too..

I've not had much success either in finding a game of late, I found one I think on the 18th, but I had to reconfigure my roll buttons (don't ask). Then, once I'd sorted that out, Bam! Nothing. Granted I'm impatient to waiting screens that seem to do nothing at the best of times, but I would dearly love to get my rank up another few notches, no matter how crap I actually am.

And I'm not brilliant, I'll be honest. But I'd like to have a go at least!
 
It's terrible today. It's searching for a match but has been doing so for over an hour. I've closed it and reopened now 3 times. I have a feeling there must of been at least one person that I could connect with... but apparently not.

I know some people say its a shortage of players issue - however, like people have mentioned above. I've got friends who I'll see playing cqc while I'm left waiting (occasionally). I believe it's a client connectivity / matchmaking issue. As I said, I think surely, I can't be the only one of over five hundred thousand people trying to play for over an hour.

FDEVS - this isn't a one off defect. It happens all the time.

I'm sure your customers would appreciate a bit of feedback. I certainly know that not responding is damaging your player base and reputation. In much the same way as if you'd purchased something physical which was broken, then a seller ignored you. Anyone would question what exactly is going on.

P.s - still searching for a match...

UPnP was already enabled but I've now set up port forwarding as well in the hope that might help.

...edit 1708. Same thing unfortunately. Oh wait, actually finally connected and joining now...

...edit 1808. I'll have to see how it behaves over the next few days. I can't imagine it'd be much different from the last 3/4 months imo. Hopefully Frontier will introduce something more transparent to keep new players. I know it's frustrating and I've been playing since beta. I can only imagine from a new customers perspective.

I'm sure Frontier measure performance vs active players and what those players are doing of course. I'm hoping Frontier are being quiet generally as they have have new cqc projects / games / solutions in place? Just would be good to know or whether it's something they'll look at in future. If so, then I'd press on Exploration until then :)
