Stuck in the panel after checking the inbox message - panel bug

Sometimes a player appears to be stuck in any of the panels after reading the message in the inbox. None of the keyboard keys seem to work (joystick working normally). The workaround is to fire a galaxy/system map via joystick that will reset the view and essentially make the unstuck.

This issue happens when going to the communication panel, reading the content of a message and going straight to any of the panels without "closing" or deleting the message first.

So to reproduce this you need at least one message in the inbox.

1. Open the comm panel, select the message and read it.
2. Instead of closing or deleting the message, go straight to any of the panels or even attempt to close the comm panel itself.
3. Oops, you're stuck! And 100% of time.
4. No keys work, to unstuck you need to recall any of the Galaxy or System maps.

Repeating this pattern will always make you stuck.

Can anyone also see this? I've reported this annoying bug yet nobody confirmed it... it happens even with the latest April patches.

Alright, if nobody is getting this bug, what am I doing wrong? Keybinds? Joystick? How can I fix this?

Hm, just checked.

The only way to get "stuck" a little for me would be to open the Text Comms Panel in Headlook mode and type something there without sending.
This disables all other Ship Panels incl. any Station Menus.

Pressing ESC once or twice cancels the active Text Input and gives back full access to Panels and functions again.

But other than that, not affected by such an issue (PC).
The only issue I have is that I have to manually type /r to respond to any incoming chat, otherwise it only goes out to local; TAB'ing only gives System/Local as well.
That used to be different and the chat automatically responded to the last received CMDR transmission, which was far more convenient.

Hmmm, yes I noticed /r behaviour as well.

Though I don't know what to do with my problem. There's no way I'm resetting the settings and assigning all the keys and joystick again.

Since I can't reproduce your issue, those are my Settings. Maybe you can spot a difference to yours and work out the nature of the problem...
