LostWinds Stuck in Winter of Melodias

I'm stuck at the entrance of Melodias. Level called Melodias City
In the short area just after getting out of the water with a sunken round rock and a stone barrier with an elevator on the other side. Cannot get the barrier away by bashing with rock or cyclones...

I suspect I need to be somewhere else.....

To smash a barrier with a rock, you need to use vortex, so gust the rock into the air, draw a vortex around it and then gust the spinning rock into the barrier.
