Stuck with Cargo from a fail mission

Bought my self a Huller and was doing some missions to hull cargo. I accepted some cargo then I had to log off before I completed the mission so by logging I failed the mission. The mission hade disappeared from my log buy I still had the cargo. It will not let me dump the cargo or sell it to black market. cant abandon the mission as its not in my log anymore?

My last resort is to sell the ship and buy another one.

Before I do sell my ship has anyone had this problem and if so where they able to fix it ?

If you can't jettison the cargo (make sure you do this at least ~10km from a station or you'll be hit with fines) with the jettison cargo hot key, nor the cargo menu, these are your options:
- Blow up.
- Sell ship.
- Have someone limpet you or cut your cargo hatch open.

Or wait for the mission to expire and then you can black market sell/dump cargo. Even tho the haulage mission is not in your transactions, the timer is still active.

If the mission is still active, sometimes taking another mission will reveal it.

However, I was under the impression that this mission was already failed and the cargo marked as stolen.

I had this problem.

It wouldn't let me sell the ship because it was full of cargo.

The only way around it was to self destruct, which wasn't a problem for me as I had plenty of dosh to cover the replacement. I think this will be your only option.

I find that jumping to a different system often brings back disappeared missions (at least to expire them properly).

@Carnster - lol, read the posts above, you don't have to self destruct.... I was stuck with 30T of Gold that I couldn't sell. I just went exploring for a few hours, it eventually expires, becomes stolen and you sell it on the black market.

@Morbad - No, it thinks the mission is still active, you cant sell or dump until it expires and becomes illegal goods

Slightly offtopic, but I found some mineral oil (4 tons iirc) at some USS and scooped it in. I sneaked into a station that didn't have black market, but it had a Cobra for sale – I had been looking for those for some time – but I cannot buy it with goods in the cargo hold. So what do I do? Take off, go away from the station, dump the cargo and get a fine for not being far enough... Then go back to buy me a good old Cobra.

Fortunately I wasn't shot down for smugling, and the fine wasn't that big. From now on I'll think twice before scooping some random stuff.

You can also still dump cargo in SC without worrying about any reports or fines, ticketed as I'm not sure if the chance of cannister of JontyBass in the face at 100 times the speed of light is by design.

I had this problem and submitted a ticket yesterday. (Also when i logged out completely and close the game then logged back in the mission was back and i cancelled it.

If anything it should be illegal, just imagine what would happen to a station beeing hit by a 1 ton projectile moving at even a significant fraction of C. not to mention multitudes

I left it for over night and still had the problem so hade to blow up my ship in the end.

This is a known bug. The bug submission system has a big red lfag on the first screen asking people not to submit any more tickets about it.
