I 'ave learnded a number of stuff wot I fough I wud share wiff you. I 'ave spent a lot of fundings on fiddling with various weapons on my Eagle.
1. Missiles are a waste of money.
2. Railguns are brilliant
3. Currently on my Eagle are 2 fixed class 2 railguns in the lower hardpoints and a gimbled class 1 multicannon on the top slot. Mucho Funo!
4. The setup described above takes skill and you hit hard as nails (when you hit). You have the multicannon to keep you in the killing zone. It kicks serious behind... Two hits with both railguns and shields are all but gone. If its a player they tend to run away at that point.
5. At least they try to run away. Once shields are gone just keep cracking away with the muticannon and soon - well there's another corpse in space.
6. You do seriously hamper your ability to take out sub-systems, but what the hell.
7. You can charge the railguns and then let go if you loose target to save temperature and weapons capacitor. I am thinking you could set up a macro to keep the railguns charged just before they fire and then instantly fire when you press a button but I am just guessing on this. If you can do that it may be an exploit and should be squished by FD.
8. To be completely honest the sidewinder with 2 gimbled pulse lasers is the best money earner in war zones.
9. The Eagle is good and all that, but to be frank, after the next wipe I'll be going straight for Cobra Mk3. The limitations with gimbled weapons on the lower hardpoints when close dogfighting are a bit of a pain.
And don't forget to check out my brand of pre-greased hair combs and matching RayBan-like flight visors only available from Chango dock and a steal at just .25 credits! The first 25 customers will receive a free pair of short cut denim hot pants!
