Horizons Stuff wot I learn'd today (Ship Launched Fighter edition)

So, after watching a couple of race-related YouTube vids today, thought I'd have a bit of a burn around an Orbis class station. Found out a couplpe of things...

1: My SLF (I use the imp-fighter) is small enough to fit between the monorail running around the inside of the habitation ring. This led to...

2: It's possible to slalom around the ring, under the monorail, dodging between the monorail supports. In the course of discovering this, I found...

3: Accidentally clipping a monorail support while travelling at boosted max SLF speed results in entering a flat spin. Very fast. Making me glad I'm not actually using a VR headset... (Was bad enough on a 21" 1080 screen, let alone actually being in the cockpit...). By "very fast" I mean I could pretty much see 360 degres on my screen simultaneously. Still managed to recover though... 6 times... (didn't lose my fighter though :D )

I also inadvertantly managed to force my fighter inside the habitation ring as well, leading to an entertaining 20 minutes trying to fly around the inside (entertaining because every 2 or 3 minutes, I'd clip a building or support and spin again...and again... and again...). Wish I knew how I managed to get in, 'cos once I got out again, I couldn't get back. Not yet, anyway...

The other thing I noticed was that my hired pilot (hired at "Harmless", trained in under two hours to "Novice", still only costs me 2% of my profits) actually flew my mothership towards me and turned it so I could dock without actually having to maneuver around it at all. Which was nice. :D

Nice! The sidewider is, ah, ALMOST small enough to do that. Then you get smacked in the back of the head by a strut. I like the ring interior at 'night'.

Odd, my hired pilot went up to 3% at "Mostly Harmless" and I still haven't thought to check what their cut is now that they're Novice. Even if it's 4% that's a discount from the 6% I'd be paying to hire them at that level so I'll take it, but if yours is actually still at 2% then I demand a refund!

Looks like it managed to only update after a while; she did go up to 4%. Seemed to be post log out/log in, but not sure...

Unfortunately, she died yesterday, due to incompetance on the part of her captain :( Really got to stop taking on multiple anacondas simultaneously when I've not got military grade armour... She did however finally attain the rank of Expert before her untimely demise, making her my top pilot so far :D
