Anybody else have this problem?
I spent last week collecting mat's to re-unlock the Guardian SLFs when I first noticed this.
I'd explode a Sentinel, it'd drop two or more mat's, I'd go to collect them and one would "disappear".
After a while I started to suspect something was wrong so I'd be looking at the 2nd mat (in VR) while collecting the 1st and I could see the 2nd mat' just ping away into the air, as soon as it touched my SRV wheel, until it vanished.
Wasn't a big problem while collecting Guardian mat's because most of the good stuff is a single drop (you shoot a spire or arch and one mat' drops on the floor) so, as long as I didn't accidentally drive over the thing I was trying to collect, I didn't have to worry about it pinging off into oblivion.
Even so, a couple of time I'd shoot something, the mat' would fly through the air, land touching my parked SRV's wheel and that'd be enough to sending pinging off, away from me.
It's even worse when you're just using the SRV to collect normal mat's though.
You shoot something on the surface, it dumps a little pile of mat's close together and you WILL "lose" around half of them because your SRV wheels will touch them as you're collecting something else, causing the other mat' to fly off into the distance.
And, to be perfectly clear, I'm not talking about mat's just bouncing a few feet away.
They fly up into the air like they've been shot out of a catapult and vanish into the distance.
You can "test" this by targeting a mat' (with your SRV's cargo scoop retracted) and driving over it as if you are going to collect it, at which point you can see the mat, on your SRV scanner, whizzing off until it reaches the edge of the scanner, before vanishing.
Very surprised that I haven't seen anybody else talking about this, TBH.
I guess, if you're collecting raw mat's from Brain Trees, or whatever, they'll be single drops (like the Guardian stuff) so it won't be as much of an issue but it's a total PITA when you're trying to collect piles of mat's lying close together.
Unless, of course, this is something that's only happening to me?!
