stupid, stupid... and I even don't know what to blame

I was just returning from a Federation Distress target practice run. Found myself in range of Azeban City, hit C to get out of supercruise when my ship told me I'm going too fast. A quick glimpse later I knew i'm going at 201km/s, so I quickly decelerated a bit and hit C again. Turned out it was still within the supercruise emergency exit threshold of the previous time I pushed C. I exited supercruise near Azeban City at 201km/s, not the newer, lower velocity. I was spinning around a couple of times and my ship telling me to eject right before it exploded. At 201km/s, which should have been more like 197km/s.

My ship never exploded when I was interdicted at several times the speed of light, but that close to the safe speed, sure, blow him up.

Damn... that sucks.

I had the same thing happen to me in my Cobra at the extraction site. I was at exactly 200 with everything cool. Then, apparently, I went a little faster. It blasted me into the rocks and I went spinning to my death.

Insurance is your friend. (And tickets!)
