Submit to Interdiction exploit

First of all, to those who agree/disagree with my idea and explained why: THANK YOU.
For the other who just wanted to tell that pirates are scum, deal with it, etc...I really did not want to start an argument and have unsubscribed to this thread anyway (not whining).

But I still have a few remarks:

1) In case you would not know, piracy is one of the least profitable activity with the highest risk/challenge. You should keep this in mind when encountering a pirate (not the psycho who just want an easy kill). I am not explaining the reasons why.

2) For those who fly their big defenseless tinboxes full of commodities and whine about these pirate scums, why for God's sake don't you play solo or join Mobius group?? If you do have an interesting answer, feel free to let me know in the below thread::
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=133970&highlight=willing+to+be+good+pirate

I do not do only piracy (actually, I have stopped doing that until the collector drones show up in the next update), and I do also a bit of trading where I NEVER submit to a PvP interdiction. I however do hate when the other guy decides to destroy my ship for fun or ask for all my cargo. If I do need money and cannot afford a potential other loss, then I play solo for one hour to be back on track.

3) For those such as grunchlk who trade in a big bird, keep in mind that if you are getting interdicted by another big bird, the other guy does expect/want a good fight anyway, otherwise he would have interdicted a Lakon. i bet he actually does not give a damn for your cargo (which is nothing compared to the rebuy cost of his ship), all he wants is a good fight while roleplaying and will most likely pay the price for this soon or later. I hope that if you happen to be loosing, you'd give him a "Nice fight buddy" and throw a bit of your cargo instead of self destructing (or combat logging!)

4) Frontier did implement the tools for PvP piracy, which is part of the game, so stop whining!

Anyway, if you happen to encounter me in my Cobra, please do try to catch me. Or if I fly a bigger ship, please do give me a good fight.

Your play consists of parasitising someone else's hard work and, presumably, sometimes damaging or destroying their ships. Did you expect applause?

Trading is tedious. It is the work needed to obtain reasonable amounts of in-game currency. That is all. Your thieving is not an improvement.

If you interdict and fire on someone without provocation, you are 100% responsible for the consequences. Just as I am responsible if I then choose to blow tens of millions of credits on cramming as many revenge ships as I can afford straight down your throat.

the truth has been spoken!

1. I have read your post.

2. I have read your responses to others opinions.

3. I agree with some of what you say.

4. I agree with some of the things others have said.

5. You seem to be obsessed with lists.

6. Have you considered bullet points.

7. You could also mix it up a bit with letters.

8. Have you tried Roman numerals.

That Frontier have not changed the FSD cooldown time after submission is interesting - presumably, it would be a single value change from e.g. 10 seconds to 40 seconds - it suggests, in my opinion, that they have considered the consequences of such a change and left it for the moment.

If every interdiction, successful or submitted, were to have a 40 second FSD cooldown for the target, those who simply interdict and destroy the target regardless would get four times the time window to complete their deed.

It may be that they are waiting until after changes are made to the bounty system to make penalties for destroying clean ships more meaningful before they increase the FSD cooldown on submission to interdiction.

As to the hyper-drive escape route - scan and follow.
I don't think bigger bounties on those who kill clean ships will work. All it does is gives the pirate a bigger bounty than they've already got. Unless you change how bounties are dealt with as well, it won't matter because you are still dealt with by authorities the same way whether you have a 200 credit bounty or a 20 million credit bounty. If, at a certain point, you become public enemy number 1 and are hounded by wings of 3 or more Elite authority ships interdicting you no matter where you go, a huge bounty then becomes a problem.

Increasing the c/d for FSD if you are interdicted and submit will simply force more players to go solo. At present, it takes skill to take out the engines of a fleeing ship. All it will achieve by increasing the time is to give in to those with little or no skill who want an easy mode created for them. Even for those who do use the fast c/d from submission to flee, in a slow ship like a Lakon trading ship against a fast ship like a Clipper, it still takes a bit of skill to get away. Those ships will be hit hard by any nerf to the c/d as it's often their only chance to escape at all.

Also, as you pointed out, if they really do want to hit that target, there's always the option to scan their wake and follow. It seems few players are actually using wake scanners but constantly complain that their target escapes into hyperdrive.

its not an exploit , its game mechanics . learn how to play this game . if you are incompetent to kill somebody before he jumps to sc it means you are not good pilot .

I think calling running away an exploit is kind of missing the point.

If you're trading then you just want to get on with that.

I got interdicted by an infamous commander last night in very tooled up Python.

I'm in a bigger ship so all I do now is submit - slow down - re-align to my original destination and wait for the cool down to expire.

He opens up with everything which barely touches my outer shield ring before I'm off.

I get the usual "Shut off your engines of die" business (I think he probably has it on a macro). If he came up with something funny or different I might stop and drop some cargo but the standard stop or die routine is now in the same category for me as the comical NPC messages;

"I'm gonna boil you up!"

Followed by

"This isn't worth dying for!"

Followed by

BOOM

If they change the interdiction method so that escape became almost impossible I would just go back to the previous avoid the interdiction in the first place method.

I don't see how they can make the player pirate v player trader interdiction challenging and fun for both at the same time.

It's always going to be trivial for one side or the other.

It's slightly different for player bounty hunter and player pirate because they are both in heavily armed combat ships so that can work out challenging and fun for both..
