Subnautica - Below Zero

I love Subnautica... this new game is a 100% buy from me...... in time.

Apparently the game right now is only 2 hours of story content, an incomplete map and alot of recycled assets from the last game.

i will wait. i need more meat on my bone for 15 quid.

My biggest issue with the BZ is

You start in already build big base (yes it gets obliterated by the snow shortly) but then you are still being with contact with other humans. You get hand hold to already prepared structures. Your sister is sending you blueprints.
I was kind of expecting same survival alone type of thing - oh well, maybe it is the issue hehe

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.

Yeah, I was all set to slap down my cash last night but didn't have the time. Now I'm kinda wondering if I should wait, too.

If you want some free entertainment head out to the Steam forum for Below Zero - its full of alt right/extreme left snowflakes fighting over the race/gender of the protagonist of all things. Its adorable.

Thanks for the warning. I'll avoid that. :p

Why the hell would either of those things have any effect on the game?

Sometimes I really don't understand humanity. :/

It's simple, really.

It's far, far easier to play the martyr, than to actually be one.

As for the game itself, I'm going to wait until it's out of early access. Still haven't finished the original yet... and I guess I'll have to finish it in 2D, since I suspect they won't implement motion controller support, and I don't like playing in VR with a gamepad or keyboard/mouse, and most of the game isn't really suited for playing it with HOTAS.

I really dont understand how game like this attracts such level of trollish behavior. Reading Steam forums did really put a bade taste in my mouth. Good thing moderators are trying to clean up the place now.
Anyway - if you want to avoid spoilers you really should wait with playing the early access version. Also current version is VERY early and area that you can explore is tiny.

Just to be fair - your voice buddy in game is your sister not a girlfriend. My bad - not paying attention to the dialogue can bite you in the bottom sometimes :)
LOL. Yeah, that's an important thing to not confuse. ;)
You can always retcon it one episode later :D

Re the game: I'd take a look later. I have 300+ hours in subnautica and really love it, so it's an instant buy for me. Sad that you have the opinion it's not worth it Vasea :|

Well, if that is so important to them why can't they just edit their own texture files and shut up about it?

Yeah I don't like the sound of that spoiler. That aspect is one of the things I loved about the original. I'm perplexed as to why they would abandon it for the sequel?

I've gone from 'day one buy' on this to 'wait and see how it shapes up.' I'm surprised at myself, really - I loved Subnautica and was really looking forward to this. The more I see, though, the less 'Subnautica' it seems, which is ironic given it's all the same assets. I think the big turnoff for me is the different vibe this one seems to have. It's more light-hearted it seems, with the cheery dialog of your sibling radio, cute penguins, etc. It doesn't *feel* dire and lonely like the first one. All this land everywhere, too.... what's up with that? Isn't this an underwater survival game?
