Successfully landed on 10g gravity world HD 148937 [3]

That was really nerve breaking stuff. That planet have some pull. I'll put up the clumsy video too if interested.

Impressive :)

How far is that from the bubble? might try on return trip, explorer conda could be quite interesting....how was the take off? could your asp hover on its own as long as you kept horizontal? what thrusters?

I don't recommend this if you love your ship and you're far away from "home", I wouldn't do this on a trek :)
Alot of boosting and close calls for my part. Very clumsy.

@dognosh great list!

Would really like the clumpsy video not becouse i don't believe you but i'd like to see how you made it.
+rep.

Also the fit is not that extreme. Good 34-35 jumprange, 1 SRV that's more than enough. 5A thrusters right, but 3D PD and 3D shields is not extreme at all, you can go everywhere with that ship nevertheless. Smart.

Yup, I did this today, with this build:

http://coriolis.io/outfit/asp/02A5D5A4D4D5D5C------02---3c040i43v62i2f.AwRj4z2VRI==.Aw18WQ==

Takeoff was harder than landing. Landing just requires patience, drop down from 2-3m not more. Actually I drove around a bit on that planet. It is not easy -- even minor hills are impossible to climb!

---

edit: Planet is actually 9.72g, I think, not 10g. Also these dudes did it earlier:

I recorded a landing there, very hesitant but heyho.

Unlike op I had 5A shields, no way I'd do that with 3D!

Asp build.

CMDR Lord Titus posted this landing on reddit, using a D rated Asp.

CMDR Annabella Terra landed there in an Anaconda and posted pics on reddit, they were the first to land there that I'm aware of. Either them or CMDR Heisenberg B. Damned.

Congrats. I would like to see the video of firing at outcrops at 10G lol, I imagine they would not move at all. I was on a 0.03G world and the things took ages to come back down.

Yeah I'm not sure of the timing either (we were around the same time) but I was in a Viper Mark IV so hat's off to CMDR Annabella.

Thought I was recording my landing but not really up to speed on video so all I recorded was the recording software screen!

Got to say CMDR Bogdanov made my landing look so bad I'm quite glad I only got a screen shot! :)

In that case Lord Titus makes us both look bad. :)

You may well have been first, wasn't looking on forums at time. Certainly close!
