Succumbed to the dreaded Neutron star death zone

Yeah the difference is having a target, clear all your targets I.e don't have a system or planet targeted and just engage your fsd (on Xbox this is y + up) this way there is no escape vector to worry about, alternatively target another system this also doesn't require an escape vector

Good luck cmdr

So all I needed to do was clear targets and then boost out anywhere??? Why is this info nowhere I could find!!!

I think when I head back to the bubble after this little jaunt I will find a neutron star to try it in. 130,000 ly of exploring lost as a consequence of not knowing this little factoid.[mad]

Hopefully this thread will help other explorers who find themselves in the same predicament.

That's all I did on my video hence why no escape vector, like everything in ed it's all well documented :) they should at least do a tutorial on escaping , there is a neutron in the bubble to practice on

"Decides to take highway of known lethality, forgets to charge controller, blames it on difficulty of escaping from neutron stars."

I have to say I don't understand this cold, unsympathetic "man up" mindset at all. Sadly, I think it's one shared by the developers of Elite Dangerous themselves. They are unfortunately based in Cambridge and, speaking as a relative local, that's one of the most competitive parts of the UK.

Move the offices up north, lose this mindset and a Good Game could become a Great Game.

This mindset is what gives Elite its character. The soul of Elite is the struggle between the player and a harsh, unforgiving galaxy. If you took that away, the game would be a hollow shell of itself.

They're easy to escape I did a video a while back, just relax get throttle in the middle and charge fsd out of there, if you have boost use it just before the count down in the general direction

All ships can escape its horse apples saying they can't

I'll go find the linky hopefully

Here you go

That. That right there.

Also..

The penalty for dying is what makes going into the black worth it. It's the only thing that ratchets up the tension as you go further from the bubble. Without it, there is no payoff for the player.

So I'm in the bubble, and have gone to a neutron star. I have gone too close and dropped out of super cruise. I don't have any body selected and have even deselected the next system I would jump to. When I select super cruise I still get an escape vector. Am I missing something? Can you explain what you do to escape, ideally in Xbox terms!
