Suggested Ship = Imperial Legacy Courier
"Considered the very pinnacle of Imperial grace, the legacy era Courier is rarely seen flying, operated only by Restoration enthusiasts and elites with money to burn. However, this venerable ship appears to be making a comeback, with private shipyards selling reproduction parts, allowing the dedicated citizen the means to make one of their own. Capitalising on this wave of nostalgia, Gutamaya are once again manufacturing official, licensed space-frames and parts, updated with new technology, ensuring that Imperial citizens with a taste for the classic are flying safe, spaceworthy craft. The only significant alterations from the original are the installation of a new FSD, and the ability to launch a small fighter, added to capture the joyriding spirit of the citizens who would typically fly such craft."
This ship would both bring back a classic, and fill a niche role for the Empire. Medium landing pad capable, owing to retractable nacelles, and carrying a SLF bay.
Performance would be oddly poor, owing to this ship being quite old, however it'd respond far better than most to engineering, with even minor engineering bringing it up to par with similarly priced/purposed craft. The rationale here being that this is a very well understood design of ship, that the engineers have experience getting the absolute most out of.
Optional internal space would be similar overall to the Federal Dropship, with Core internals closer to Asp Explorer. Hardpoints would be 4 medium, with 4 utility. Weapon mountings would be 2 placed relatively far back on dorsal "shoulders", and 2 on forward ventral surface, flanking main landing gear.
It would have a unique ability to take a luxury cabin, without having a restricted slot locked to this purpose. Obviously, it was never originally built to be a luxury transport, but given the enthusiast crowd, something would have been designed for that purpose over the years.
Aesthetically, its a Gutamaya ship, but a classic of a different era, there'd be design differences.
Externally, the nacelles bear conical structures, possibly spinning, with reverse thrusters and heat radiators in ring shapes to accentuate the round nacelle aesthetic. If possible, lateral/maneuvering thrusters could be designed as a ring assembly also, possibly the very same as reverse thruster assembly.
Overall design would still avoid hard edges, like more modern craft, but with simpler overall geometry and a noticeble chine, separating dorsal and ventral sides.
Dimensions when landed in the ballpark of L=88 W=59 H=23, in flight L=88 W=89 H=33
Internally, the typical white, with blue illumination would prevail, but this time accented with actual woodgrain highlights giving some warmth to the aesthetic.
It would also be somewhat overpriced for what you get, at least just as much as you'd pay for a Clipper, if not more. Collector's item, after all.
