Let's say that you're doing some UA hunting - you'd like to visually see the 150ly bubble around Merope, Wanting to look at the approximate size of the bubble by centering on Sol and showing a 200ly sphere (or so), or looking for systems you can jump to from a neutron star. You'd like to visually see it all.
To make all these tasks easier - I suggest this simple QoL idea - a sphere around a system that allows you to easily see where you can jump to, what's the UA spawn range, or anything that you may find use to.
The usage will be easy:
1. Select a system, with a button for current system.
2. Set the sphere's radius (in lightyears) - with special button for current jumprange.
3. The sphere will show up and you can see what systems are in its range.
For example:
CMDR John is in his anaconda, with 54.45ly jump range with full tank. He just visited a neutron star, and has a supercharged FSD with full tank. Hence he can jump 218.80ly this jump.
John opens the galaxy map, and wants to see if there's another neutron star within 218.80ly range, so he clicks the "current system" button and sets the range to his current jumprange, hence creating a sphere with a 218.8ly radius. He then checks in the direction he's flying to if there's a neutron star, and if so he plots the route there. Otherwise - simply the furthest jump he can.
This is a small QoL change i'd like to see in the game - it will be comfortable for anyone who uses the galaxy map.
You can and even encouraged to add to/criticize/post your thoughts about the idea if you'd like to.
Thank you! o7
