Suggestion about adding new HUGE ax weapon without Balance-Issue (my best try)

Hey guys, recently i've became more and more looking forword to see any new Class 4 HUGE weapon in game. We haven't seen them in several years and I know that human huge weapon may cause lots of balance issues that will break the game's PVP content, so I suggest Adding new huge Anti-Xeno weapons.

Yes yes you will say that new huge ax weapon still will break the game's AX content, but that is not what I mean. Some people are actually not interested in blowing Thargoids Interceptors just in one-shot, they just want to carry large guns to take part in combat. So why not actually make 1 Huge weapon eaquls to (or almost eaqual to) 2 Medium weapons?

The "equal" i say means 1 huge weapon will almost produce same heat, deal same damage, have the same effective range and the same armour-pierecing level which leads to almost the same FINAL DAMAGE as 2 Medium weapons. And of cource for the balance issue, 1 huge ax weapon will occupy 2 limited slots which means you can only carry 2 huge ax weapon and nothing else if you don't have the stablizer. In fact, with this the 2 huge ax weapons it will actually work just as the same as 4 Medium weapons, that we all agree is balanced.

You see, not all class 4 weapon demonders are wishing easier game, we want large guns we also want balanced game. For frontier, you don't even need to consider about the numbers blablabla, you just need to bind 2 medium together and make a new 3D model (or just make the current medium weapon's model twice larger), that's all. No balance issue, no hardwork about the developing, no more resoure that will be needed, but new stuff about this game, new ax players and lots of pleased players who were eager to see HUGE weapons long time ago.

As far as i see, it's a win-win-win situation. So please consider about it. appreciate it.
 
if a huge is fixed only and counts towards the 4 weapon limit at the cost of 3 (meaning the corvette would need a AXStab to have both on the ship) i could see it being worthwhile, possibly, without destroying balance

I could see AX multis fitting the bill without needing to be a fixed weapon(seeing as they generally have comparatively low piercing as it is). Guardian stuff? Not so sure. Dunno if it really needs to be available as C4 weapons either.

I like the idea of a worthwhile C4 to make the Corvette actually....good?
Im a fedneck, but the Corvette sucks in DPS compared to Anaconda and thats just not right

Even some C3s(no, the unmodified Guardian shards and plasma chargers don’t do it, not for me at least), if it had to be Guardian weapons, would be welcome. Sticking C2 modshards or whatnot into the huge hardpoints feels like sacrilege, even if by necessity… the thermal load of those things would be horrendous.

(I still survived a Medusa in a regular space-based CZ in my Corvette with 5 shards - 3 medium, 2 small - somehow, while having most of its attention, back when I did AX. Kind of made me wish I had opted to throw an AFMU, repair limpets and a small cargo rack on.)

Yeah the heat and power distributor required would make a large or huge basically useless for medium ships, most likely.
C3 Modgauss but instead of being trash, its just higher ammo capacity please! :p
 
why care about balance now all of a sudden after years of engineers being in the game?
because in the past 10 years, every update including engineers which carried new stuff was hated by same large player group with the reason "balance". They were upset about everything new that broke their way to play the game, and because they are loud, so somehow they are representing the community . For the most recent event, the new stuff is called Weapon Stablizer, and of course was hated by those "experienced" ax players, who think the noob players using stablizer can reach their 4-gauss-cold-orbit-combat level all of a sudden and believe me they really really really don't like this. They cannot be the few players that can beat a interceptor anymore. THEY LOST EVERYTHING THEY WERE PROUD OF.

So i suggest this, all about balance, to not raise their anger and hatred.
 
Try equipping a ship with 4 large + 2 medium double-engineered AX missile racks. You won't be able to hit anything smaller than an interceptor, but the DPS is seriously impressive.
