Ship Builds & Load Outs [Suggestion] Alternate star jump destination

There are a lot of systems out there with distant companion stars with things to get to (looking at you Hutton Orbital and even Dalton Gateway)

I noticed now in the 1.4 beta (and probably implemented sooner, heh I never noticed) that when you open system map on a distant destination star, and select a particular station, you can set navigate waypoints to it, so that the jump sequence will lead you to the star system, then to the station itself. Pretty cool for those that bother.

An inspiration hit me then... what If I target Proxima Centauri in system map as my destination from Sol...? Would I then jump to Proxima instead of Alpha Centauri A? Sadly no. :(

So there is my suggestion. Be able to choose which star to warp to from out of system, by selecting the star in the system map.

Make it so the star has to be scanned (in ships database) before an out of system jump to it may be allowed.

It seems there is already added the in system waypoint navigation, so how much more work would it be to add this extra little part?

This will quite possibly be implemented although personally I doubt it.
Usually its either this or in-system jumps that get floated as ideas. Mini-jumps have been ruled out however:

Q: The DDF; There is actually only a few things from the DDF that completely MIA. Skirting any debate of the implementation of existing features as compared to the DDF, can you comment on what of the following MIA features are off the table, in a wish-list or coming SoonTM for the core game? Any news is good news!
The DDF topics provided a wealth of information and opinion for features we want to include in the game at some stage. Design always changes when you come to implementation for various reasons. NPC comms is still on the cards. Misjumps and mini-jumps are unlikely and not part of the current plan. Player alliances is something that is likely to evolve from the player minor factions. Player trading is an unknown at the moment. Ship transfers and passenger missions are in the current dev plan. The tier 2 NPCs is likely to change, but we need to see how other factors like NPC comms fit in and what we can take from there.
So it could happen but in my eyes I think the current system works well. It would take away from the challenge of the community goal if you could travel it once and then jump straight there the next time...

It would be a convenience for us all if this (op's suggestion), or something like it, were in the game.
Many have been asking for it and I hope one day FD will find the time to implement it.

There would still exist far away stations and that is a good thing I might add.
I like the variation in principle, but I personally will never spend an hour or more traveling to such a station myself, unless the game provided me with a very, very good reason for doing so. So far I have seen nothing that comes even close to such a reason.
