Suggestion: Auto-lit paths

The most annoying thing about all theme park simulators is placing lights along paths. I think there should be an option to automatically put street lamps, or any lights for that matter, on the path at chosen intervals.

Fully agree. This is an option in other Theme Park sim games - can place type, distance apart from each other, and distance in from outside of path.
Great idea!!!![up]

I think that this function should be switchable.....maybe some times you don't wanna have a lamp at that chosen intervall, so why not giving the option to enable or disable by choice this function on the path menu?

Kindly regards

Its a good idea as long as it can be turned off.

I dont want the game to placer them automatically all the time :
- indoors
- places where i use stage lights to highlight buildings or scenery

I feel it'd be best to have it as a pathway option/selection from the types of paths available. This way, we can have paths that we want to place down lights for ourselves, but if others dont want to deal with it and are up for paying a bit extra for it, there'd be an option to put these pre-lit paths as they please.

OR
Have it where lamps snap to path edges and align with the direction of the path. Would make placing down lighting Much easier and still look darn good too!

YES PLEASE!! AS AN OPTION lights are SUCH a pain in the ass to deal with and dark parks are not safe! Lighting was always the last thing I would add to my parks in RCT, actually I thought lights were pointless in RCT1&2 and I only added them in RCT3 because the night effects looked so good. I wish I was better at setting up lights like other people, but at least having the option to make them automatically built with paths would help decrease the effort required big time!

as long as its optional, id never use it. id rather place them down myself honestly, but thats just me.

I found out that placing the small floodlights in a organised and spaced manner can be so painfully time wasting ,but soooo beautiful looking.
This option would be great for those kind of tasks.

Watch over to ThemeParkStudio, there you can align lamps, benches, trash-bins and even vegetation along a path. You can adjust the offset to each object, the start-offset, and the distance from the centerline of the path.
That is a really powerful way to create paths, I like that a lot.

But you need a complete patheditor for this, way more as PC delivers today, but the only right way.
