So I make extensive use of bookmarks. I've bookmarked all the systems with rare commodities so that if I'm on a route that takes me nearby I can take a quick side trip to grab some. I bookmark any interesting sounding systems that I read about on an Elite site some where for sightseeing purposes. I've bookmarked the home systems of the minor factions I'm supporting. Bookmarks for the engineers. Etc.
I've taken to editing the bookmarks names with prefixes to put them in groups so I know why I bookmarked them later. E: Deciat (because that's an Engineer's base), R: Lave (location of a rare commodity), S: Crab Pulsar (because I want to visit the Crab Nebula later), F: Fuelum (because who wouldn't want to support the Fuel Rats).
Still I've got a billion bookmarks to scroll through, so it would help if we could create custom re-nameable subfolders in the Bookmarks tab to organize them easier. And that's my suggestion. Another helpful thing would be if we could add custom map symbols so they aren't all the same thing. Maybe keep the bookmark symbol but allow us to color-code them and we can decide for ourselves what a green bookmark symbol on our Galaxy Map means.
If this already exists in some capacity on the PC, then sorry but I'm on PS4 and I'm not seeing it. Also sorry if this has been suggested before, maybe there's a reason it's getting suggested again. And if this is in 2.4, again, PS4, I apparently don't get to beta test.
